“WC” Henry concentrates his practice in the areas of Local Government Law, Civil Litigation, and Employment Law, representing both employers and employees. Mr. Henry has extensive experience in Local Government Law, having worked 10 years in the Manatee County Attorney’s Office in Bradenton, and serving as Chief Assistant County Attorney the last four of those years. Since joining Burke Blue, Mr. Henry has served as County Attorney for both the Bay County and the Walton County Boards of County Commissioners. He has also represented the Bay County Transportation Planning Organization, and the Panama City Housing Authority.
Mr. Henry is a Vietnam veteran. He retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Colonel in 1993 after a 24 year career, serving in various operational intelligence, judge advocate and management positions around the world, including two tours of duty (77 – 80 and 86 – 89) at Tyndall Air Force Base in Bay County. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and five Meritorious Service Medals.
Mr. Henry received the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 12th Circuit in 1996. For four years, he served on the Board of Directors of Legal Aid of Manasota. He also served on the Manatee County Bar Association’s Law Library and Pro Bono Legal Advice Committees. In 2014, Mr. Henry was appointed to the Florida Bar’s Military Affairs Committee and served as Vice Chair for two years. In 2016, he received the Bar’s Clayton B. Burton Award of Excellence for his work on the Committee.
In the past, Mr. Henry was active in coaching youth baseball and soccer, including here in Bay County. He is a member of the Bay County Bar Association, the Military Officers Association of America, and the Disabled American Veterans.
